In Uttar Pradesh’s Chitrakoot district’s Markundi police station area, a woman poisoned her three children and then swallowed poison herself, resulting in the death of the woman and her two children. A police official gave this information on Sunday.
Chitrakoot Superintendent of Police (SP) Arun Kumar Singh said that in village Itwan Dudaila on Saturday evening, Jyoti Yadav (28), wife of Babbu Yadav, poisoned her children Bulbul (one), Chandrama (three) and Deepchandra (five) and then swallowed poison herself.
He said that when their condition worsened, the family took all four to Majhgawan hospital, where Bulbul died during treatment at 7 pm. Doctors referred the woman and two children to Satna hospital, where Jyoti and son Chandrama also died at around 8 pm.
The Superintendent of Police said that Deepchandra is currently being treated. Singh said that on inspection of the spot, some substance has been recovered from the house, the smell of which suggests that it is probably poison.
