The BJP government has tried to put all the pressure it can on the international athlete and junior women’s coach who has accused minister Sandeep Singh of sexual harassment in the Khattar government of Haryana. Every effort was made to break it. Allurements ranged from the offer of sending abroad to the payment of goods. The situation is that even after 8 months of filing the case against the minister, the Chandigarh police has not even been able to file the charge sheet.
Even after all the pressures and temptations, she did not back down and finally she was suspended from the post of junior women’s coach, after which her pain came out. The aggrieved female coach said that this government has treated me worse than the accused. The Chief Minister repeatedly attacks me. In the beginning, those who helped me and those who raised their voice for me, have gradually calmed down due to the pressure of the BJP government.
The women coach said that we tried to put a question before the Chief Minister on August 10 at the Haryana residence. The purpose of my going before the Chief Minister was only that how I am being tortured for the last 8 months as a victim. Pressure is being applied to withdraw the complaint filed by the police everywhere. The women coach said that being a victim, we are being treated worse than the accused, whether it is our sports department or elsewhere. He who is accused has been placed in the ministerial position to wave the tricolor, to pay respects repeatedly.
The victim said that the Chief Minister has been telling us since day one that I am an unrestrained girl. I make unrestrained statements. Till date the Chief Minister has not tried to know our side. From the first day he is engaged in saving the minister Sandeep Singh. Not just saving, every time he tries to slap all those girls like me on the face, giving an opportunity like flag hoisting to Minister Sandeep Singh on 15th August. She said that I will stand everywhere for my rights as a victim and I will keep questioning him again and again as to who gave him the right to desecrate our tricolor.
The women’s coach questioned why Sandeep Singh was not suspended from the post of minister. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar cannot cheat our law for very long. He alleged that apparently he (Chief Minister) is putting so much pressure on the Chandigarh Police that the Chandigarh Police is delaying filing the charge sheet. Till date, this is the first case of any MLA or Minister, in which the police has not filed a charge sheet for 8 months.
The victim said that despite always working under discipline, I was suspended. Again and again the registers are hidden and I am forced to post attendance. Not only this, Chief Minister Khattar is repeatedly creating unnecessary pressure on me. I will do everything I can to fight within the law. The women’s coach said that whether you look at the case of Hathras, look at Kuldeep Sengar or just recently look at Brijbhushan Sharan Singh. What can you expect justice from the Chief Minister who has problem with wearing jeans of girls.
Questioning the manner in which the government had shown its attitude towards the issue of Sandeep Singh in the last assembly session, Mahila Koch said that what message is the government trying to convey to the society. Hardly if a girl takes a stand for her self-respect and dignity…when it comes to the price of taking a stand for her truth and self-respect, a rapist Respect is given in this country.
He said that the Khattar government is clearly a dictatorship. To what extent a victim is pressured not to let her speak for the last 8 months and also not to give the chart sheet to the Chandigarh Police. The female coach said that I have never asked anything from this government or from the Chief Minister. My only request from day one is that if I am wrong then let the investigation be done. You accept the resignation of the minister. If he is right, then make him Sports Minister, but he has repeatedly insulted a girl…a daughter.
The female athlete said that only a girl can understand how she feels when things like sexual harassment happen to her. I have not spoken any kind of abusive language to the Chief Minister till date. Yes, he repeatedly takes the side of Sandeep Singh and comes before us every time and attacks me again and again. So, as Sandeep Singh is for me, I consider the person who saved him to be the same.
The pain of the junior women’s coach, who made serious allegations of sexual harassment against Sandeep Singh, the former sports minister and currently still in the minister’s position, has come to light when he was fired from his job.
