If you are using WhatsApp then there is some useful news for you. WhatsApp support is going to stop on many smartphones from 1 June 2025. If you have an old smartphone then you should prepare a backup immediately.

If your phone is still on iOS 15.1 or Android 5.1 or above, then rest assured that your device will continue to support WhatsApp. But if your device is in the list given above or is running on an older version, then it is advisable to get a new phone in time.
Backup is important
WhatsApp has advised that if you are using an old phone and are planning to get a new device, then first of all take a backup of your chats. For this, open WhatsApp, go to Settings > Chats > Chat Backup, backup from Google Account. By doing this, all your conversations will be transferred to the new phone in one click.
According to the report, from June 1, WhatsApp will not work on those iPhones which are still running on iOS 15 or older versions. On the other hand, if your Android smartphone is running on Android 5.0 or older version, WhatsApp will not work in them.

Do this immediately
If you have any smartphone mentioned in the list and you are using WhatsApp on it, then you need to be alert. You should switch your phone immediately. If you are going to remove WhatsApp from your old smartphone, then first make a backup of your chats and media files. If you make a backup, then you will be able to easily recover your chats in new phones.
