Rudraprayag police told that the road was being opened. During this, a damaged car has been found from Mable. The bodies of five people have been found in the car.

Rudraprayag police said that on the evening of August 10, on the Guptkashi-Gaurikund highway reaching Kedarnath Dham, rocks and debris came from the top hill near Tarsali in Chowki Phata area. In such a situation, the road was completely obstructed.

According to the police, at the time when the debris fell on the road here, it was told by the eyewitnesses that a vehicle was also hit by the debris and boulders here. It was also being speculated that the vehicle might have crossed this area, as there was a loud sound of rock breaking and debris coming up here along with a cloud of dust. It was expected that no one was hit by it. But this did not happen. A vehicle number UK 07 TB 6315 (Swift DZire) was found in a badly damaged condition under the debris during road opening here today.

Police said that the bodies of 5 people in the car have also been recovered. According to the ID recovered from these persons, 3 persons were from Gujarat and 1 person was from Haridwar. They are yet to be identified as nothing of identification has been received from 1 person. Necessary action is being taken in relation to the dead.
