A major accident took place in Kedarnath in Uttarakhand. Where heavy debris fell near Jangalchatti on the Gaurikund-Kedarnath road. Five people got trapped and fell into a deep gorge.

A major accident took place in Kedarnath in Uttarakhand. Where heavy debris fell near Jangalchatti on the Gaurikund-Kedarnath road. Five people came under its grip and fell into a deep gorge. Due to which 2 passengers died, while three were seriously injured.
Rudraprayag Police said that 2 people died while 3 others were injured due to falling of stones from the top of the hill near Jangalchatti Ghat on the trek route of Kedarnath Dham. As soon as the information of the incident was received, police and DDRF personnel immediately reached the spot and rescued the affected people. Confirming the accident, the District Disaster Management Officer said that this incident happened due to landslide on the hill. Rescue operation is being carried out by the local administration and SDRF team. The injured are being taken out of the gorge and sent to safe places for first aid.
People were rescued
According to the police, the passengers were hit by debris falling from the mountain. Let us tell you that on the Kedarnath Dham footpath today, near the Jungle Chatti ghat, at around 11:20 am, due to a stone debris falling from the hill above, the pilgrims/dandi/kandi operators travelling in this area got hit by it. On receiving the information of this incident, the police force posted at the Jungle Chatti outpost and the DDRF rescued the people who fell down in the ravine after being hit by the stone debris and brought them up.
Three people injured
According to the information received so far, 3 people have been injured, out of which one woman has suffered minor injuries and 02 men have suffered serious injuries, they have been referred to Gaurikund. Apart from this, 02 people have died. The names and addresses of all are being ascertained. The movement of pilgrims is being done under police protection at this place.
