उत्तराखंड में दिसंबर से दूसरे राज्यों से आने वाले वाहनों पर ग्रीन टैक्स लगेगा
The Uttarakhand government has decided to impose a green tax on vehicles entering the state from other states. This move aims to control pollution, protect the environment, and promote cleanliness in the state.
When will the tax be implemented?
According to the State Transport Department, this tax will begin to be collected from December.
Outstation vehicles will be identified through NPR (Number Plate Recognition) cameras installed at the border.
Tax Amount and Vehicles to Which It Will Be Applied
- The tax amount will range from ₹20 to ₹80 depending on the type of vehicle.
- For example: three-wheeled vehicles ₹20, four-wheeled vehicles ₹40, medium vehicles ₹60, and heavy vehicles ₹80.
- The tax will not be applicable on two-wheeled vehicles, electric and CNG vehicles, vehicles registered within the state, and emergency service vehicles.
Tax Collection Method
This tax will be automatically deducted from the FASTag account after the NPR cameras identify the registration number of the outstation vehicle.
Why was this step taken?
Environmental pressure has increased in Uttarakhand due to outside vehicles, especially in the hilly areas and tourist routes. The Green Tax aims to reduce vehicle emissions, promote a clean environment in the state, and ensure efficient use of transportation resources.
