Kailashpur police have busted a fake certificate racket operating under the guise of a public service center in a hotel. Shahnawaz, a resident of Bihar, was arrested for making fake birth certificates, Aadhaar cards, and PAN cards.

Uttarakhand: During verification, the Kaliyar police station in Haridwar district raided a public service center operating in a hotel and recovered fake certificates. A fake identity card of the Chairman of the Human Rights Commission was also recovered from the accused.
The accused is a resident of Bihar and has been involved in the racket of making fake certificates for a long time. Most of the certificates were issued on the letterhead of the Rudrapur Municipal Corporation. To date, he has made and sold over a thousand fake certificates to people. Police have filed a case in this matter.
The Kaliyar police station, along with a team from the local intelligence unit, raided a hotel room during verification. The public service center was being operated using a board labeled Shahida Human Rights Public Service Center. When questioned by the police, the operator gave his name as Shahnawaz, a resident of Sahibganj, Muzaffarpur, Bihar. He also attempted to intimidate the police by claiming to be the Chairman of the Human Rights Commission.
He also showed his identity card to the police. Upon investigation, the identity card was found to be fake. The team then searched every nook and corner of this public service center. They uncovered a case of forging birth certificates, Aadhaar cards, and PAN cards for both local and foreign residents. All of these birth certificates bore the same serial number and the Uttarakhand government logo.
Most of the certificates were issued on the letterhead of the Rudrapur Municipal Corporation. Given the seriousness of the matter, the police contacted the CEO of the Piran Kaliyar Municipal Council and verified the documents, which confirmed that all the certificates were fake. The signatures and seals on the certificates were completely forged. During rigorous interrogation, the accused, Shahnawaz, revealed that he used to extract online formats from Google and edit them using software. He has already sold over 1,000 fake birth certificates and other documents to individuals.
Police recovered 45 fake birth certificates, seals from seven different departments, a laptop, chargers, a mouse, six mobile phones, six Aadhaar cards, and a fake Human Rights Commission ID card from the scene.
