A major development has emerged in the Ankita Bhandari murder case in Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has now taken a significant decision regarding the matter. Dhami has decided to order a CBI investigation into the Ankita Bhandari case.

For the past several months, political and social organizations have been protesting in Uttarakhand over the Ankita Bhandari murder case. Now, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken a major decision regarding the entire matter. Dhami has decided to recommend a CBI investigation into the Ankita Bhandari case. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami clarified that the government’s objective has always been, and will continue to be, to ensure justice in a fair, transparent, and sensitive manner from beginning to end.
Respecting the request and sentiments of the parents of the late Ankita Bhandari, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has recommended a CBI investigation into the Ankita Bhandari case. CM Dhami categorically stated that the government’s intention is completely clear and no facts or evidence will be overlooked. He emotionally said that Ankita was not just a victim, but she was also our sister and daughter. The CM said that a recommendation has been made to the CBI for the investigation of this entire case.
Ankita’s parents had demanded a CBI investigation.
Regarding the 2022 Ankita Bhandari murder case, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that they felt that her parents were the most affected and that they should definitely listen to them. He spoke to them. During the conversation, every aspect related to Ankita was discussed. Ankita’s parents told him that there should be a CBI investigation. Respecting this, they are recommending a CBI investigation in this case. The CM said that they want a fair investigation in this matter.
From SIT to Life Imprisonment
CM Dhami also shared details of the action taken by the state government so far. Immediately after the incident, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed under the leadership of a female IPS officer. Due to the effective advocacy of the government, none of the accused could get bail during the trial. After the completion of the trial, the lower court sentenced them to life imprisonment.
What is the whole case?
Ankita Bhandari started working as a receptionist at Vanantara Resort on August 28, 2022, after seeing an online advertisement. Shortly after, Ankita became aware of the illegal activities taking place at the resort. She then began searching for another job. It is alleged that she was raped and murdered during this time. Following the public outcry over the incident, the police arrested three suspects on September 23, 2022. However, the names of several other individuals have also surfaced in connection with the case, and protests regarding their involvement are still ongoing.
