According to the information received, there is a possibility of waterlogging and flood situation due to heavy rains in Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Champawat, Dehradun, Nainital, Pauri Garhwal, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Tehri and Uttarkashi districts within 24 hours on Monday. The administration has been told to be extra cautious in sensitive areas and keep traffic under control.

Here, 74 roads have been closed due to torrential rains in the state. According to the State Emergency Center, five roads in Rudraprayag, one national highway and eight rural roads in Uttarkashi, one in Nainital, one state highway and 20 roads in Chamoli, 9 in Pithoragarh, 3 in Almora, 8 in Bageshwar, 1 in Champawat, 6 in Pauri, 4 in Dehradun, and 8 rural roads in Tehri district have been closed due to landslides.

At the same time, the already closed Rishikesh-Yamunotri National Highway has also not been opened near Aujri yet, due to which passengers are facing huge difficulties.

The administration and disaster management department are completely on alert…but the continuous rain has also posed challenges in relief work. The government has appealed to the people to avoid unnecessary travel and follow the latest alerts of the Meteorological Department.

At present, CM Dhami himself is keeping an eye on the situation. He has taken complete information from all the officials through video conferencing. The SDRF team has left for the spot. CM Dhami is currently in Delhi and is talking to the officials about all the rescue operations related to the disaster in the state.
