A major road accident occurred this morning in the Vikasnagar area of Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. A Himachal Pradesh Roadways bus went out of control and plunged into a deep gorge in the Malsi area. Upon receiving information about the accident, an SDRF team reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations. It is reported that the HP Roadways bus was traveling from Nerwa in Himachal Pradesh to Paonta Sahib.

Information has emerged that the HRTC bus went out of control near Kwanu in Vikasnagar and fell into a gorge. Three people died on the spot in this accident. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police administration reached the spot. Relief and rescue operations have been started.
Incident at 10 AM
The HRTC bus had left the Chaupal depot at around 6:30 AM. It first reached Nehwa. After that, it was going to Paonta via the Meenus-Kwanu-Haripur route. More than thirty passengers were reportedly on board the bus. The incident is said to have occurred around 10 AM. The bus suddenly swerved and fell into the gorge. Two women and one man are among those who died in the accident.
What caused the accident?
According to the information received, the accident occurred near Sudoi Khadd on the Meenus-Kwanu-Haripur road while the bus was trying to give way to a truck. The bus went off the road, causing it to lose balance. The embankment of the road collapsed due to the bus, causing the HRTC bus, full of passengers, to fall into the gorge. After several flips, it landed in the deep gorge.
Crowd Gathers
Upon receiving information about the bus falling into the gorge, people started gathering at the spot. Many people tried to descend into the gorge to rescue the victims. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police administration and the SDRF team reached the spot. Relief and rescue operations have been started there. Efforts have been launched to immediately transport the injured to the hospital. Local residents had already started relief work.
