A massive fire caused by a cylinder leak at a leaf plate factory in Hardoi was brought under control by firefighters after several hours. The workers managed to escape in time, preventing a major loss of life.

A massive fire broke out at a factory manufacturing disposable plates and bowls in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday morning (December 6) at around 7 am. Several fire tenders rushed to the spot immediately after the incident and began efforts to control the blaze. The fire was extensive, with flames visible from a considerable distance, causing panic in the surrounding areas.
According to reports, the fire started due to a leak in a gas cylinder kept in the factory and engulfed the entire unit within minutes. The intensity of the fire was so high that the factory walls were hindering rescue efforts. The administration then called in bulldozers to demolish the walls, which significantly helped firefighters access the building and extinguish the flames. After several hours of continuous efforts, the situation was brought under control.
Panic among residents due to towering flames
Local residents reported that the flames were so high that they were clearly visible from several kilometers away. The sudden eruption of flames and smoke caused panic and chaos in the area. Fortunately, all the workers inside the factory managed to escape in time, preventing any loss of life. However, almost all the factory’s contents were destroyed in the fire.
Administration appeals for caution
Fire department officials stated that the fire has been completely extinguished and cooling operations are underway. According to PTI, an assessment of the damage is currently being conducted, and an investigation into the cause of the fire has also been initiated. The administration has appealed to the residents of the surrounding areas to exercise caution and advised them to store cylinders and flammable materials safely. A police team is also deployed at the site, and further action is being taken regarding the incident.
