Just then, the Kalka Mail passed by platform number 3. The passengers were hit. The accident was so horrific that they were torn to pieces.

Six passengers were killed after being hit by a train at Chunar station in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday. The accident was so horrific that the passengers’ mutilated bodies were scattered on the tracks.
CM Yogi has directed officials to immediately reach the spot and expedite rescue operations. Mirzapur GRP Inspector Raghvendra Singh said that the passengers had just alighted from the train when a train coming from the opposite direction hit them, causing the accident. Six people died in the accident. Rescue operations are underway at the scene.

It is reported that all the passengers were returning to Dakshinanchal after bathing in the Ganga. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the accident. CM Yogi expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased. He has instructed officials to immediately reach the spot and expedite relief work.

People present there said that the devotees had arrived at platform number four of Chunar railway station on Wednesday morning by the Prayagraj Barwadih passenger train coming from Sonbhadra. From there, they had to go to the platform to catch the Varanasi train. They tried to cross the railway track to the other platform. At that very moment, a speeding train approached. Before the devotees could regain their balance and move aside, they were hit by the train and died tragically in the accident.
After the accident, there was an outcry at Chunar station. RPF and GRP police immediately arrived at the scene and began action.
