UP’s Professor Alok kumar singh stabbed to death in Mumbai local train

As the train was about to arrive at Malad station platform and Alok was standing near the door to get off, the accused suddenly stabbed him in the stomach.

In Mumbai, the local trains, which millions of people consider the “lifeline” of their daily lives, became the cause of death for a family on Saturday evening. Panic erupted at Malad railway station when a passenger was stabbed while alighting from a moving train. The attack claimed the life of 33-year-old Professor Alok Kumar Singh.

Argument on the way home

According to reports, Alok Kumar Singh was a professor by profession and taught at a private college. On Saturday evening, he was returning home by local train. During the journey, he had an argument with a fellow passenger. It is alleged that the accused also threatened Alok during the argument.

Attacker ambushed him on the platform

As the train was about to reach the platform at Malad station and Alok stood near the door to get off, the accused suddenly stabbed him in the stomach. The attack was so swift that before the surrounding passengers could understand what was happening, the accused jumped from the moving train and escaped under the cover of darkness.

Condition deteriorated before reaching the hospital

Immediately after the incident, GRP (Government Railway Police) personnel stationed on the platform reached the spot and took the blood-soaked Alok Kumar Singh to the nearby Shatabdi Hospital. However, the wound in his stomach was very serious, and despite all the doctors’ efforts, his life could not be saved.

A mountain of grief for the family

The deceased Alok Kumar Singh had been married for only two years. He was originally from Uttar Pradesh and was working in Mumbai. This sudden death has brought immense grief to his family.

Questions raised about security arrangements

Incidents of arguments over seats or space in Mumbai local trains are frequently reported, but this incident of a public stabbing has raised serious questions about the railway’s security arrangements. Such an attack at a crowded station and the attacker’s escape have become a matter of serious concern.

Police action

The Borivali GRP has registered a case against the unknown accused under Section 103 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. Railway police are investigating to identify and arrest the accused.
