Nandini Rajbhar, state general secretary of Subhaspa Mahila Manch, was murdered in broad daylight on Sunday in Sant Kabirnagar. This murder was carried out in Nandini’s residence in Digha, Khalilabad. After which sensation spread there. Late in the evening the villagers started protesting demanding action.
Anger erupted when the police tried to pick up the dead body. Villagers and supporters also clashed with the police. Late in the night, people agreed to the assurance and the body could be sent for post-mortem.
On the other hand, Kotwal has been attached to IG office Basti. ASP Basti will investigate the entire incident. IG RK Bhardwaj has ordered to investigate the role of other policemen also. Also, SIT has been formed under the leadership of ASP of Sant Kabir Nagar to investigate the land dispute. Nandini Rajbhar (30), wife of Achhe Lal, resident of Digha Mohalla located in Khalilabad Kotwali, was the state general secretary of Subhaspa Mahila Manch.
Nandini Rajbhar had gone to BJP office on Sunday. After attending a meeting there, she returned home at 4 pm. Her husband had gone to work in the city and her 7-year-old only son had also gone to play. At around 5 pm, a woman from the locality went to his house for some work. When the woman Nandini reached Rajbhar’s room as the door was open, Nandini’s blood soaked body was lying on the floor.
As soon as she saw the dead body she started screaming. Hearing the noise of the woman, more people reached there. Meanwhile, people informed the Kotwali police about the matter. Kotwali in-charge Brijendra Patel along with ASP Shashi Shekhar Singh reached the spot. Late in the evening, there was a clash between the police and supporters when they tried to pick up the dead body. Seeing that things were not working out, Nandini’s family members discussed the matter with Subhaspa President Omprakash Rajbhar. He assured everyone that strict action would be taken. He asked the workers to allow the dead body to be taken away. After this, policemen under the leadership of DM and SP started taking the dead body to be kept in the pickup. After going about two hundred meters suddenly the villagers started protesting again. They got ready to fight the police with bricks and stones. There was also a scuffle.
Everyone said that the body will not be allowed to be recovered until the murderers are arrested. Seeing the people getting angry, the police again kept the body there. MP Praveen Nishad and IG also reached the spot. Late night, on the assurance of the IG, the body could be sent for post-mortem. People told that Nandini was a good leader of Rajbhar area. She was fighting to get justice for her cousin father-in-law. He was also receiving threats regarding the same matter. A week ago, the dead body of the cousin’s father-in-law was found on the railway track. However, it is not yet known who has committed the murder. The police is investigating the case.
‘Nandini’s relative was murdered on 29th February’
The deceased’s maternal uncle Ramgopal Rajbhar told that a murder had taken place on 29 February. The person who was murdered appeared to be Nandini’s father-in-law. He was killed in a land dispute. But that case was given the form of suicide. Nandini was fighting a legal battle to get justice for her cousin’s father-in-law’s family. He was also receiving threats daily. In this case, SP Satyajit Gupta said that strict action will be taken against the killers. No criminal will be spared. A high level investigation will be conducted in the matter.
