A video of patients being treated in torchlight in the emergency room of the district hospital in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh has gone viral on social media. Health department officials said on Sunday that such a situation arose due to disruption of power supply due to technical glitch.
Two videos were circulated rapidly on social media on Saturday in which doctors are seen treating a patient in torchlight in the emergency room of the district hospital.
In the second video, patients in the emergency room are seen getting upset due to lack of electricity. In the video, a young man is heard saying that this is the condition of the district hospital in Ballia “despite having so many ministers”.
In this case, the Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) of the district hospital, Dr. S.K. Yadav, said that due to a sudden technical glitch on Friday evening, power supply in the district hospital area was disrupted. He said that on the other hand, the generator through which the emergency medical building is supplied also had a technical glitch, due to which power supply was disrupted for about 45 minutes.
CMS said that after this problem came to light, sufficient number of inverters have been installed in the emergency medical room and the system has been rectified.
