Malaria Department official Shruti Kirti Verma stated that these new cases were confirmed between September 30th and October 3rd. With this, the total number of dengue cases in the district has reached 419, a situation that has become a cause for concern for the health department.
Surveillance and Fogging Campaigns Intensified
She stated that teams of health workers are continuously monitoring the areas where patients are identified. Special fogging and anti-larvae spraying are being carried out in areas where patients are identified. Furthermore, in many cases, the patients’ offices have also been contacted and sprayed there to eliminate mosquitoes.
Appeal to the public to be cautious
The Health Department has appealed to the public to avoid water stagnation in and around their homes, as the Aedes mosquito, which spreads dengue, breeds in clean water. People have been advised to regularly clean water tanks and coolers, and to avoid water stagnation in old utensils, tires, and pots.
Early Symptoms and Testing for Dengue
Doctors say that timely testing is crucial to prevent dengue. Furthermore, any type of fever should not be taken lightly. Early symptoms of dengue include high fever, headache, pain behind the eyes, muscle and joint pain, rashes, and weakness.

Meanwhile, the Health Department has claimed that patients are receiving proper treatment and monitoring. All hospitals in the district have been alerted and facilities for dengue testing and treatment have been made available.
