Meerut Zone Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Dhruv Kant Thakur said that these people died in an explosion in a colony in Secunderabad area of ​​Bulandshahr district. Some people have been reported buried in the debris.

As soon as the information was received, the police and administration officers reached the spot and called the ambulance and JCB to the spot. Officials of police, administration and fire department are engaged in rescue work. Efforts are being made to remove the debris with the help of a digging machine, an official said.

Bulandshahr District Magistrate (DM) Chandra Prakash Singh said that the incident took place in Riazuddin’s house in Ashapuri Colony, in which 18-19 people lived. He said that the cylinder blast took place between 8.30 pm and 9 pm. Eight people have been evacuated and taken to hospital.

DM said that some people’s condition is very serious, some people are undergoing treatment. He said that 10 to 11 people in the house are completely safe. He said that the iron beam of the roof was cut with a cutter. A JCB machine was installed to remove the debris.

Police personnel were also seen appealing to people to move away from the scene due to the rescue operation. A crowd of people had gathered at the place where the explosion took place. District Magistrate said that apart from Police, Fire, Health and Municipal Corporation, the team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is also engaged in relief efforts.

He said that the Chief Minister immediately took notice of the incident and reached the spot and directed the relief work and said that the injured should be given the best possible treatment.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shlok Kumar said that five people have been confirmed dead. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
