A major accident occurred late last night on National Highway 9 in Atrasi, located in the Rajabpur police station area of Amroha. A speeding, uncontrolled car rammed into a parked DCM (Electric Vehicle) vehicle. The impact was so severe that the car was completely destroyed. Four MBBS doctors from Venkateshwara University, who were travelling in the car, died on the spot.
The accident caused widespread panic and a large crowd gathered. Upon receiving information about the incident, police arrived at the scene and, with the help of villagers, extricated the bodies of the four doctors trapped in the car after a lot of effort. Police took possession of the bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination. These four doctors were doing internships at the university after completing their MBBS.
Liquor bottles and chips found in the car
According to the police, based on the car’s high speed and some evidence revealed in the preliminary investigation, it is believed that the doctors were likely drunk at the time of the accident. Alcohol bottles and chips were also found inside the car.
The deceased doctors in this accident are being identified as Arnab Chakraborty, Ayush Sharma, Shrestha Pancholi, and Sapatarasi Das. These four friends had gone out for a drive late at night. Upon receiving information about the accident, Venkateshwar University Vice Chancellor Rajiv Tyagi arrived at the scene. Police have sent all the bodies for post-mortem.
The deceased doctors were from the 2020 batch.
These doctors had been studying MBBS at Venkateshwar University in Amroha since 2020. After completing their MBBS in 2024, they were doing their internship at Venkateshwar University this year. Late at night, they had gone out for a drive. About 3 kilometers from the university, the car collided with a DCM parked on the side of the highway.
