UP | 2 killed, 3 injured in a tyre factory explosion in Meerut

Police said that the incident took place around 5.30 am in the morning in a factory located three kilometers away from village Fitkari in Incholi police station area, where old tires are melted and oil, ash and wires are separated.

Two workers died and three others were injured when a boiler exploded at a tire factory in Meerut district on Tuesday morning. Police gave this information. Police said that the incident took place around 5.30 am in the morning in a factory located three kilometers away from village Fitkari in Incholi police station area, where old tires are melted and oil, ash and wires are separated.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rohit Singh Sajwan told PTI that the boiler suddenly exploded in the morning, killing Shankar (30) and Praveen (22) and injuring three others.

He said that the injured have been admitted to the hospital where their condition is said to be out of danger.

Sajwan told that all the victims of the accident were residents of village Kishoripura. The SSP said that preliminary investigation revealed that the boiler burst due to high pressure. At present, the incident is being investigated to know how the accident happened.

On receiving information about the incident, apart from the SSP, Superintendent of Police Dehat, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Joint Magistrate and other officers also reached the spot.
