Five people killed, 10 others injured in collision between a roadways bus and a van in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. At least five people, including a two-year-old child, were killed and 10 others seriously injured in a head-on collision between a van and an Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation (Roadways) bus coming from the opposite direction near Oil town in the Kheri City police station area of Lakhimpur Kheri district on Sunday morning, police said.
According to police, two of the deceased have been identified as van driver Sunil (25), a resident of Piparia village in the Sadar Kotwali area, and two-year-old Sarfaraz, a resident of Dateli village in the Mitauli police station area. Efforts are underway to identify the other three deceased.

Kheri District Magistrate (DM) Durga Shakti Nagpal and Superintendent of Police (SP) Sankalp Sharma visited the Oil Hospital and met with those injured in the accident. They consoled the grieving families of the deceased and injured and assured them of all possible help from the administration.
