महाराष्ट्र में आतंकवाद निरोधक दस्ते ने एक युवक को पाकिस्तानी एजेंट से गुप्त जानकारी साझा करने के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया है। आतंकवाद निरोधक दस्ते के एक अधिकारी ने मामले में बताया कि युवक से एक एजेंट महिला बनकर फेसबुक पर दोस्ती की फिर उससे अहम जानकारी हासिल की।

The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested a Thane man who works as a junior engineer in a defense technology firm for providing sensitive information to a Pakistani intelligence agent. According to the information, the agent had trapped him in a honeytrap on social media. An official in the case said that the 27-year-old accused has been identified as Ravindra Muralidhar Verma. He is a resident of Kalwa in neighboring Thane city. He said, ‘Ravindra Verma worked as a junior engineer in a defense technology firm. As an employee of the company, he was allowed to enter the Naval Dockyard in South Mumbai and worked on naval ships.’
Secret information sent between November 2024 and March 2025
During the investigation of this case, it has been found that this young man kept sending secret information related to an important institution to Pakistan through WhatsApp between November 2024 and March 2025. When the Anti-Terrorism Squad got the news, the Thane unit took action and detained the accused youth. Two more people were also brought along with him for questioning, but they were released after investigation.
ATS is investigating the case from all angles
In the initial investigation, the role of the accused was found suspicious, after which he was arrested under Section 3 (espionage) of the Official Secrets Act and Section 61 (2) (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). At present, the matter is being investigated in depth. Officials say that this matter is related to national security, so every aspect is being investigated closely.
At present, the ATS is now trying to find out what other information the accused leaked, and whether he was part of a larger network. His mobile phone, social media accounts and other technical equipment are being investigated.
