For this reason, many other Baloch organizations including BLA have taken up arms.
What is the military strength of BLA?
When BLA was formed in 2000, its military strength was said to be around 6,000 fighters. However, over time the number of its members has declined. Majeed Brigade is a special suicide squad group of BLA, which is said to include about 100-150 suicide bombers.
The total military strength of BLA can be estimated from the data of Stanford University. According to the data, BLA currently has 1,000-1,500 fighters. Some new reports say that the number of BLA fighters has come down to only around 600.
BLA’s strategy and attacks
BLA adopts the strategy of guerrilla warfare. It attacks the Pakistani army, police and government establishments. BLA is especially against the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Under this, China has invested heavily in Balochistan. BLA targets Pakistan’s army, ISI and other security agencies.
