A horrific industrial accident in Telangana’s Sangareddy district on Monday morning shook everyone. A massive explosion took place at the Seegachi Chemicals factory located in the Pasha Melaram Industrial Area at around 9 am, after which the entire factory was engulfed in flames.
Explosion in the reactor caused devastation
According to the information, the explosion took place in the chemical reactor of the factory, the sound of which was heard for several kilometers. The explosion was so powerful that many workers jumped in the air and fell up to 100 meters. The fire engulfed the entire unit in a few minutes. According to eyewitnesses, there was chaos at the spot and the workers ran here and there to save their lives.
10 workers died, 20 injured
According to the information so far, 10 workers have died on the spot, while 20 other workers have been injured, many of whom are in critical condition. The injured have been immediately rushed to Tancheru Hospital, and the critical patients have been referred to Hyderabad for better treatment.
Relief and rescue operations continue
Four fire brigade vehicles have reached the spot and the work of extinguishing the fire is going on rapidly. Also, 108 ambulances and medical teams are engaged in relief work. After the accident, a part of the factory building has collapsed and people are feared to be trapped under the debris. The administration has evacuated the factory and the surrounding area.
More than 100 workers were on duty
According to local sources, chemical powders used in the manufacture of medicines are prepared in the factory. About 100 workers from different parts of the country work here. As soon as the news of the accident spread, the relatives of the dead and injured started arriving outside the factory. The atmosphere is gloomy.
Investigation orders, administration on alert
The administration has ordered a high-level investigation into the incident. The actual cause of the accident has not been confirmed yet, but according to initial estimates, it may be an explosion caused by a technical fault in the reactor. The police and fire department have appealed to the people not to go near the spot.
