Muzaffarnagar: The district’s Ramraj police and SOG team have achieved a major success by arresting a youth who used to smuggle illegal weapons under the guise of working as a delivery boy in Swiggy. 10 country-made pistols, cartridges and a motorcycle have been recovered from the accused’s possession.
Arms supplier arrested on information from an informer
According to the police, information was received from the informer that a suspicious youth was about to deliver illegal weapons near the Jamalpur canal culvert. On this information, the police cordoned off the area and conducted a checking campaign. A bike rider was signaled to stop, but in a hurry his bike slipped and he fell. The police immediately caught him.

Weapons smuggling from Delhi to Haryana
During interrogation, the youth was identified as Sudhanshu, who is originally a resident of Karnal district of Haryana. He used to call himself a delivery boy of Swiggy, but this work was just a pretense. In fact, he is a big supplier of country-made weapons, who used to smuggle these weapons in Delhi, Haryana, Meerut and other districts of western Uttar Pradesh.
Old criminal record of the arrested youth
SSP Muzaffarnagar Sanjay Kumar Verma said that five criminal cases are already registered against Sudhanshu and he is part of an organized network. The police have also received information that the number of his associates is three to four, who also manufacture illegal weapons. Their search has been started.
