A class 12 student died after falling from the 23rd floor of ATS Advantage Society, considered to be the most posh in Ghaziabad, late on Thursday night. When the student was taken to the hospital, a note was found in his pocket. It was written “I fear that suicide may fail. Floor 24, death confirmed”. The police are investigating this case on both murder and suicide angles. The CCTV of the society is also being scrutinized. The deceased was identified as Nav Khanna alias Kavish.

The incident happened when Nav and his two friends were standing on the terrace of the 24th floor and taking mobile photography. 17-year-old Nav Khanna alias Kavish, resident of Neetikhand-3 of Indirapuram police station area, had given the 12th exam this year. Its result is yet to come.

Late Thursday evening he came to ATS Advantage Society with his friends Ishaan and Karthik. His friend Pranay lives here in tower number 21. The four friends reached the 24th floor. Nav Khanna fell from the 23rd floor at around quarter to 9 pm. The police took him to Shanti Gopal Hospital, where he was declared dead.

In this case, ACP Swatantra Kumar Singh said, as soon as information was received from RWA and security, the police and forensic team of Indirapuram police station reached the spot and interrogated his friends. Friends told that they were all doing mobile photography on the 24th floor terrace. After this, Pranay, who lives in ATS Society, went to his flat. Now Nav Khanna along with Ishaan and Karthik were left on the terrace. Both of them told that after Pranay left, Nav went down saying that he would be coming in some time.

He came from 24th to 23rd floor and jumped down from the balcony. There was a loud sound of his falling. ACP said, when the police took the student to Shanti Gopal Hospital, a suicide note was found in his pocket. Prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide. The handwriting of the suicide note is being matched. All other points are also being investigated. A police team is examining the footage of CCTV cameras installed inside the society.

At present this accident has raised many questions. The most important question is whether Nav Khanna had gone to the terrace of the building with the sole intention of committing suicide and whether he had already written a suicide note.
