Four people were killed and 10 others injured in a fire that broke out in a multi-storey residential building in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, after midnight on Monday, police said.
An official said the fire broke out in a flat on the 10th floor of Raheja Residency in the MGM Complex in Sector 14 of Vashi area at around 12:30 am and spread to the 11th and 12th floors.
He said two women, a man, and a six-year-old girl died in the incident, while 14 others were injured. The injured were taken to two hospitals in Vashi.
The official said that after receiving information, eight fire engines and 40 firefighters, along with police, reached the spot and the fire was brought under control by 4 am on Tuesday. The official said the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
