Secunderabad-Shalimar Superfast Express derail near Howrah

Railway officials said that the coaches of the weekly special train derailed at Nalpur, about 40 km from Kolkata. There are no reports of any casualties in this incident.

Three coaches of the Secunderabad-Shalimar Superfast Express derailed near Howrah in West Bengal at around 5.30 am on Saturday. Officials of South Eastern Railway gave this information.

Railway officials said, “The coaches of the weekly special train derailed at Nalpur, about 40 kilometers from Kolkata. There is no report of any casualty in this incident.”

A parcel van is also included among the derailed coaches. Officials said that 22850 Secunderabad-Shalimar weekly express was passing through Nalpur station of Kharagpur division when three coaches derailed.

Railways informed that an accident relief train and a medical relief train have been dispatched from Santaragachhi and Kharagpur for immediate assistance. Several buses have also been dispatched to bring the passengers to Kolkata.
