However, despite holding the charge of power supply minister in the state, Sharma had to give a speech without electricity in the middle of his own city. Power was out for hours on Bandh Road, one of the most important areas of the city. Officials of the electricity department were also missing. According to an official statement, the state government has taken disciplinary action against four officials of the electricity department following the incident. An explanation has been sought from Superintending Engineer Sanjay Vaish, while Executive Engineer Bhuvanraj Singh has been given a chargesheet. Apart from this, Sub-Divisional Officer Prakash Singh and Junior Engineer OP Kushwaha have been suspended.
