Aditya Singh will be the new Chief Judicial Magistrate of Sambhal. He had previously ordered the survey of the Jama Masjid while serving as a Civil Judge. A shocking case has emerged from the judicial system in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh. Aditya Singh will now be the new Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Sambhal. Aditya Singh is the same person who, as a Civil Judge (Senior Division), had ordered the survey of the Jama Masjid. In the current administrative decision, he has been promoted and given the responsibility of the CJM post.
This appointment comes at a time when the case related to the Sambhal violence remains a subject of continuous discussion at the judicial, administrative, and police levels.
The judge who ordered the case has been transferred and demoted
The then CJM Vibhanshu Sudhir, who had ordered the registration of a case against ASP Anuj Chaudhary, Inspector Anuj Tomar, and 15 to 20 other police personnel in the Sambhal violence case, has been transferred from Sambhal to Sultanpur. However, this decision was not limited to just a transfer.
CJM Vibhanshu Sudhir, who was posted in Chandausi, has been transferred to Sultanpur and demoted from the post of Chief Judicial Magistrate to Civil Judge (Senior Division).
This case is clearly linked to a demotion, which has sparked intense discussion in judicial and administrative circles.
What order triggered the entire controversy?
This entire matter is related to Alam, a young man injured during the violence in Sambhal. Alam’s father, Yaman, had filed a petition in court.
Hearing this petition, CJM Vibhanshu Sudhir had directed the registration of an FIR against ASP Anuj Chaudhary, Inspector Anuj Tomar, and several other police personnel.
This court order was considered extremely important in determining the role of the police in the Sambhal violence.
The police refused to register the case
Following the CJM’s order, there was a flurry of activity in the Sambhal administration. The district’s Superintendent of Police, Krishna Kumar Bishnoi, publicly stated that the police would not register a case under this order.
He also clarified that the court’s order would be challenged in the High Court and an appeal would be filed against it. The atmosphere has changed after the transfer, and questions are being raised.
The entire case has taken a new turn following the transfer and demotion of CJM Vibhanshu Sudhir. Although the administration is calling it a routine transfer process, the timing and circumstances have raised questions about this decision.
The fact that the judge was not only transferred but also demoted to a lower judicial position immediately after ordering a case against police officers makes this development even more sensitive.
Sambhal violence case back in the spotlight
Following the appointment of a new CJM and the demotion of the previous one, the Sambhal violence case has once again become the focus of attention.
All eyes are now on whether the process of filing a case against the police will proceed.
It will also be crucial to see what stance the High Court takes on this entire matter and what further clarification the administration provides regarding the judge’s transfer and demotion.
Currently, this case has become a major debate involving judicial independence, police accountability, and administrative decisions.
