The Delhi-Shamli passenger train derailed on Sunday afternoon at the goods warehouse near Saharanpur railway station in Uttar Pradesh. Due to the station superintendent being on leave, acting superintendent and RPF police inspector Mohit Tyagi said that the train was empty at the time of the accident and was going for washing, during which one of its coaches derailed. There was no loss of life in this. On receiving the information, railway officials and employees reached the spot and started the work of repairing the derailed coach.
After getting information about the accident, Saharanpur Congress MP Imran Masood, who reached the spot, expressed deep anger over the incident. He said that during the current session of Parliament, many railway accidents have happened and Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav is busy patting his back. The way trains are getting derailed every day, passengers have started fearing to sit in trains.
A coach of Bastar Express caught fire at around 10 am. This incident happened when the train was standing for cleaning in Visakhapatnam station yard. The minor fire incident in a coach was immediately controlled. It was an empty coach. He told that no other coach was affected in this incident.
