The rupee closed at 85.52 against the US dollar on Monday.

The rupee fell 9 paise to 85.61 per dollar in early trade on Tuesday.
The rupee opened weaker at 85.54 per dollar in the interbank foreign exchange market and then fell to 85.61 against the US dollar, down nine paise from its previous close.
The rupee closed at 85.52 against the US dollar on Monday. Meanwhile, the dollar index, which measures the US dollar’s position against six major currencies, was down 0.14 percent at 107.97.
International benchmark Brent crude was up 0.50 percent at $74.36 per barrel.
According to stock market data, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were selling on Monday and sold shares worth Rs 1,893.16 crore net.
