Kamal Kishore Chaurasia, owner of the country’s famous pan masala companies Kamala Pasand and Rajshree, is in the news. His daughter-in-law, Deepti Chaurasia, has committed suicide at her home in Vasant Vihar, Delhi. According to police, Deepti’s body was found hanging from a ceiling fan.
According to reports, her husband, Harpreet Chaurasia, was the first to discover Deepti’s body after her suicide. He rushed her to the hospital, but she was declared dead by doctors.
It is reported that a diary belonging to Deepti has been found, in which she has mentioned numerous disputes with her husband. Police are investigating the entire matter.
Deepti married Harpreet Chaurasia in 2010. They have a 14-year-old son. Harpreet is said to have been married twice. His second wife is a South Indian film actress, with whom he also has a daughter.
Rajendra Singh, the family advocate for the owner of Kamala Pasand, said, “What happened was very sad. Both families have decided to perform the last rites together today because we want to give them their full respect. This is a huge loss for both families. Whatever is being reported in the media is completely false. There are no allegations in the suicide note. He hasn’t named anyone. We don’t know the reason for the suicide. We are cooperating with the police. The investigation is ongoing…”
Meanwhile, Deepti Chaurasia’s brother, Rishabh, has made several serious allegations. Rishabh says, “My brother-in-law (Harpreet) had many illicit affairs. They haven’t had a good relationship since their marriage. My brother-in-law and mother-in-law beat my sister. My sister would call me and say she was being harassed. My sister’s husband used to beat her. I just want justice.”
