Heavy rains in Uttarakhand cause waterlogging in many places, 90 roads including National Highway closed, schools also closed, red alert issued

Heavy rains in many states of North India on Friday disrupted life. This also includes the hilly states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Two people died due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand in the last few days. The Meteorological Department has also issued a red alert for July 6 and 7.
Alert of extremely heavy rain in these districts
According to the IMD forecast, extremely heavy rain is likely at isolated places in Nainital, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Udham Singh Nagar districts today. Along with this, heavy rain is also likely in some parts of Chamoli and Pauri district.
Heavy rain is also falling intermittently in Dehradun
Let us tell you that on Friday, Lohaghat in Champawat district, Kapkot in Bageshwar district and some parts of Garhwal received heavy rainfall. In Dehradun, a five-year-old child drowned in a pit filled with rainwater and a teenager drowned in a drain in Haridwar. In Dehradun too, many roads have been flooded due to continuous intermittent heavy rains.
Normal life in the hill state has been disrupted. The rains triggered landslides at several places, blocking major roads including the national highway leading to Badrinath. The State Emergency Operations Centre said landslides have blocked 88 rural motorable roads, two border roads, a state highway and a national highway leading to the Badrinath temple.
The Rishikesh-Badrinath national highway was blocked at Lambagad, a highly landslide-prone area. Landslide debris blocked an old tunnel in Rudraprayag district on Friday. However, no casualties were reported.
