A heartbreaking news has emerged from the Ontario area of California, USA. Three people were tragically killed and four others were seriously injured in a horrific road accident on the westbound 10 Freeway on Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports, a semi-truck suddenly lost control and struck several vehicles in quick succession. The truck driver has been identified as Jashanpreet Singh (21), a resident of Yuba City, Northern California. Police have arrested him on charges of driving under the influence and recklessly causing death. Preliminary investigations have revealed that Jashanpreet was driving under the influence of drugs and failed to brake before the collision.
The incident, captured on his truck’s dashcam, shows his Freightliner truck colliding with an SUV and crushing several vehicles. The accident caused chaos on the highway and a long line of vehicles. One of the deceased is said to be a 54-year-old resident of Upland, while the other two victims have not yet been identified as they were severely burned in the accident. According to sources, Jashnpreet Singh is an Indian citizen who entered the US illegally in 2022.
It is worth noting that a few months ago, a similar accident occurred in Florida involving a Punjabi truck driver, Harjinder Singh. He made a U-turn in the wrong direction, after which a car coming from behind collided with the truck. Three people died in that accident as well. This incident is once again raising questions about the safety and regulations for immigrant truck drivers in the US. It is being reported that the US administration tightened the licensing rules for foreign drivers only after the Florida accident.
