Punjab | Police today conducted an encounter to nab accused Gursidak and Vishal in Amritsar grenade attack

The killed accused has been identified as Gursidak, while the name of the absconding accused is being told as Vishal.

Punjab Police Chief Gaurav Yadav said that acting on the basis of special intelligence, Amritsar Police has traced the people responsible for the attack on the temple. The DGP said, “The police team traced the suspects in Rajasansi. Head Constable Gurpreet Singh was injured in the firing by the accused. Taking action in self-defense, the police retaliated and one accused was injured. He was taken to the government hospital, where he later died. The other accused fled and efforts are on to arrest him. “

On March 15, an explosion outside the Thakurdwara temple in Amritsar damaged a part of the temple wall and broke the glass of the windows. A man was seen throwing an explosive device towards the temple. CCTV footage of the attack on the temple showed two unidentified men coming towards the temple on a motorcycle.

After pausing for a few seconds, one of them was seen throwing the explosive device towards the temple and later both fled from the spot. The Punjab Police had said at the time that it suspected the role of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ‘Inter-Services Intelligence’ (ISI) in the attack on the temple. Though there were no casualties in the incident, the blast caused panic among the residents of Khandwala area of ​​Amritsar.
