A video of fighting has surfaced in Haridwar district of Uttarakhand. A violent clash broke out between the priests of Haridwar’s South Kali temple and the devotees who had come from Saharanpur. The video of the incident of fighting between two groups is going viral on social media. About half a dozen temple staff, armed with sticks, are chasing and beating some youths and their family members. It is seen in the video that the temple priest with a stick in his hand is attacking some people. He is running away from the temple premises to save his life.
It is being told that a family from Saharanpur had come to visit the temple. There was a fight between the families of the passengers over the issue of ticket and parking of the vehicle in the temple. Within no time the argument turned into a fight. After this, the priest and other staff of the temple chased and beat the devotees with sticks.
The youth started the fight first!
Shyampur police station incharge Nitesh Sharma said that the incident happened on Sunday afternoon. Written complaint has not been received yet. What was the fight about? It is being verified. The temple management says that the youth had started the fight and fight earlier. The temple management has said that a complaint will be lodged with the police.
