IPS Prashant Kumar has been made the new acting Director General of Police of UP. Till now he was working on the post of Special DG. The current acting DGP Vijay Kumar is retiring today i.e. 31st January.
Before Prashant Kumar, he was holding the post of Special Director General of Police (Law and Order). Kumar will be the fourth consecutive acting Director General of Police of Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, Kumar was holding the post of Special Director General of Police (Law and Order) of Uttar Pradesh.
1990 batch IPS officer Prashant Kumar is considered one of the trusted officers of the Yogi government. Before becoming Special DG, he had also been ADG of Meerut.
