In this picture the polar bear can be seen sleeping on a small iceberg.

Each year a photography competition for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year People’s Choice Award is held by the Natural History Museum. This organization has given information about the photographs that made it to the top in the recently concluded competition.

Sarikhani has named his picture ‘Ice Bed’. A record 75,000 people voted in its favour. The Natural History Museum has said that more than 50 thousand photographs were received for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Award in 2023. From these, 100 photographs were selected as finalists by a panel of judges.

Sarikhani said- I feel very honored to win the award.

Sarikhani said, “I am very honored to win the award. Climate change is the biggest challenge we face. I hope this photo will inspire hope. It will send the message that there is still time to fix the mess we have made.” Dr. Douglas Gurr, Director of the Natural History Museum, said that the photo taken by Nima is extremely breathtaking and poignant. In this we can see the beauty and fragility of our planet. Due to climate change and global warming, the habitat of these bears is disappearing. It needs to be saved.

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year also shared other photos competing for the award on X. These pictures are as if animals of different species are talking to each other.
