A portion of National Highway-3 was closed for vehicular traffic after a cloudburst triggered flash floods in Himachal’s Kullu district. Police gave this information on Thursday. Police said that no casualties have been reported so far in the incident that took place late on Wednesday night.
According to officials, the portion between Dhundi and Palchan bridge on NH-3 has been affected due to cloudburst in Anjani Mahadev drain in Manali area.
Lahaul and Spiti Police issued an advisory on Thursday saying that vehicles going from Lahaul and Spiti to Manali from the northern gate of Atal Tunnel have been diverted towards Rohtang.
Travellers were also asked to travel only when necessary, drive carefully and be aware of the possible danger on the way.
The State Emergency Operations Center said that a total of 15 roads in the state were closed for traffic on Wednesday night, including 12 in Mandi, two in Kinnaur and one in Kangra district.
There are reports of damage to a power project and some houses in this incident, but it has not been confirmed.
