A person posted at the Indian Embassy in Russia has been arrested, who despite being an Indian employee, was working for the Pakistani agency Inter Service Intelligence (ISI). This arrest has been made from Meerut, which has been carried out by UP ATS.

Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (UP ATS) has arrested a Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agent. The accused was posted at the Indian Embassy in Moscow. It is alleged that he was sending intelligence information about India and the Indian Army to Pakistan. UP ATS has taken action based on the input.
The accused has been identified as Satyendra Siwal. He was posted at the Indian Embassy in Moscow since 2021. He was working as an India Based Security Assistant (IBSA) in the embassy. An official statement said that the Anti-Terrorism Squad had received information from its sources about a spy operating in the Indian Embassy in Moscow.
Could not give correct answer during ATS interrogation, confessed to spying
Acting on the information, UP ATS detained Siwal and interrogated him. Satyendra did not give satisfactory answers during interrogation. It has been claimed that he later confessed to spying. After this he has been arrested from Meerut district of UP.
Used to lure officers to take secrets of Indian Army
During interrogation, Satyendra Siwal has revealed that he used to lure Indian Government officials with money to extract information about the Indian Army and its day-to-day functioning. Satyendra Sivan has also been accused of giving important and confidential information about the Indian Embassy, Defense Ministry and Foreign Affairs to ISI handlers.
