On Tuesday, terrorists carried out a suicide attack on an army check post in the Darban area of Dera Ismail Khan in Pakistan, in which 23 Pakistani Army soldiers were killed. Tehreek-e-Jihad Pakistan, a new group affiliated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), has claimed responsibility for the attack.
In a post on Twitter, acting Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bugti strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the police check post and expressed deep grief over the death of the soldiers. Regarding the incident, Pakistani media outlet Dawn quoted the Army’s Media Affairs Wing as saying that on the morning of December 12, six terrorists attacked a security post in the Darban area of Dera Ismail Khan.
Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations said, “An attempt by terrorists to enter the post was effectively foiled, forcing the terrorists to drive an explosive-laden vehicle into the post. This was followed by a suicide bomb.” “The attack took place resulting in the collapse of the building due to the explosions, resulting in several deaths. 23 brave soldiers were martyred. All six terrorists were killed.”
