The study claimed that one percent of people who received Covaxin complained of AESI, which included stroke and Guillain-Barr syndrome. In this syndrome, people’s feet start becoming numb and this symptom starts spreading to other parts of the body.
The study, published in the journal Springer Nature, came after British pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca admitted in a UK court that Covishield could cause blood clots and lower platelet counts.
A study conducted by BHU researchers from January 2022 to August 2023 reported that after receiving Covaxin, about one-third of the individuals complained of AESI, in which they faced skin-related diseases, general disorders and nervous system-related diseases. . Teenagers especially faced these problems.
The research involved 635 teenagers and 391 adults. All these people were contacted for examination one year after getting vaccinated.
According to the study, 10.5 percent adolescents suffered from skin-related diseases, 10.2 percent from general diseases, and 4.7 percent from nervous system-related diseases.
The study also claimed that menstrual abnormalities were seen in 4.6 percent of women after administering Covaxin.
It was also reported that four adults (three women and one man) also died. All four of them had diabetes, while three had high blood pressure and two of them had received the Covaxin vaccine.
