A 65-year-old woman was killed and four others were injured when a stampede broke out at an event organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Maharashtra’s Nagpur city on Saturday. Police gave this information.

A stampede broke out at an event organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party in Nagpur city of Maharashtra. A 50-year-old woman was reported dead and four other people were injured in the stampede. Information has been received that the name of the deceased woman is Manu Tulsiram Rajput. Inspector Santosh Patil of Kotwali police station said that this incident took place in the Suresh Bhat auditorium complex of Reshmibagh area. Here a program was organized by the Nagpur city unit of BJP to distribute goods (utensils) to laborers and workers under the government scheme.
Utensils were being distributed to the workers
An officer of Sakkardara police station said that in this program utensils were to be distributed to the workers, hence a huge crowd of women had gathered at the venue of the program. Since the program did not start for a long time, a huge crowd had gathered there. The official said that the name of the deceased woman killed in the stampede is Manu Tulsiram Rajput, who fell during the stampede. After this he was taken to the government hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The primary cause of death is said to be suffocation and heart failure. Police have registered a case of accidental death and have started investigation into the incident.
BJP workers are saying that the system has failed
After this incident, BJP workers are saying that the accident happened due to system failure. But women are saying that this accident happened because there was no arrangement to handle the crowd of thousands. This incident happened this morning around 10 pm. Police said that utensils were being distributed to construction workers at the event and a large number of people had gathered at the venue. Police officer said that Manu Tulsiram Rajput fell in the stampede and died. Four other women suffered minor injuries.
