A horrific road accident took place on Saturday morning on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway located in Nuh district of Haryana. This tragic accident took place near Ibrahimbas village under the police station Firozpur Jhirka border when about 11 employees engaged in cleaning work were cleaning the expressway. At around 10 am, a speeding pickup vehicle suddenly came and hit the cleaning workers, killing 6 employees on the spot and seriously injuring 5 others.
As soon as the information about the accident was received, the local people reached the spot and informed the police. They also helped in taking the injured to the hospital. The injured were immediately taken to the nearest hospital, where the condition of two remains very critical. The collision was so severe that many employees were thrown far away and died on the spot. People were shocked to see the blood marks on the road and the mutilated bodies.
Teams of police, ambulance and road safety agencies reached the spot and relief work was started immediately. After the accident, there was a jam on the expressway, which the police had to work hard to control. The administration immediately tried to normalize the traffic by diverting the traffic. The police have started investigating the incident along with taking the injured to the hospital.
The police said that the process of identifying the employees killed in the accident is going on. On the basis of CCTV footage and eyewitness statements, the driver of the pickup vehicle is being searched and the incident is being investigated. Legal action has been initiated against the driver. Police officials say that only after investigating the incident, something can be said further in the case. At present, the police is investigating the incident from every angle. Earlier also, many accidents have happened on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway due to negligence and high speed.
