In this meeting held at Subhash Chaudhary’s residence in Baraut, Baghpat, on Saturday, concerns were also raised about the changes brought about by the new generation’s use of mobile phones. Khap leader Subhash proposed a ban on giving smartphones to children under 18, which was unanimously agreed upon.

Curbs on wedding expenses

Thamba Khap leader Surendra Singh also raised concerns about extravagant spending at weddings, and everyone decided to raise awareness in the community about this issue. It was proposed that instead of holding weddings in marriage halls, weddings should be held at the couple’s homes.

They said that the youth’s perspective will also be considered.

This meeting of Khap leaders was held on Saturday, but no final decision has been made yet. Khap leader Subhash Singh says that community elders are discussing these social evils. The youth will also be consulted for their opinions. A major decision will only be made after the panchayat meeting.
