महाराष्ट्र: भाजपा का गोलीबाज विधायक गिरफ्तार, पुलिस स्टेशन में CM शिंदे के MLA को मारी थी गोली
In a shocking incident, a Bharatiya Janata Party MLA was arrested on Saturday for allegedly firing multiple bullets at a ruling Shiv Sena leader inside a police station
Ironically, the firing incident took place late on Friday night inside the office of senior police inspector Anil Jagtap of Hill Lines police station in Ulhasnagar city, which is the home district of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Ruling BJP MLA Ganpat Kalu Gaikwad and Shiv Sena city president Mahesh Gaikwad were sitting at the police office to resolve an alleged land dispute. Suddenly, Ganpat Gaikwad took out his revolver and fired several rounds indiscriminately at Mahesh Gaikwad, seriously injuring him. There was chaos inside the police station after the incident, although no policeman was injured.
Critically injured and bloodied Mahesh Gaikwad was taken to Jupiter Hospital in Thane city for treatment, while Ganpat Gaikwad and three other associates were arrested. The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) expressed anger over the firing inside a police station and demanded the resignation of BJP’s Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis.
Congress opposition leader Vijay Wadettiwar, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut and Nationalist Congress Party (SP) working president Supriya Sule criticized the ruling ‘Mahayuti’ regime for the incident that took place inside a police station chief’s office.
Deputy CM Ajit Pawar said he would talk to Fadnavis, who ordered a probe into the incident. Accused MLA Ganpat Gaikwad has claimed that he and his family are facing problems from CM Shinde and his MP son Dr Shrikant Shinde. He also argued that because of CM Shinde he was forced to open fire and he did it in self-defense.
In a social message in the name of Ganpat Gaikwad, he is reportedly saying that if Shinde remains the CM, only criminals will be born in Maharashtra, although there is no evidence that the MLA has made any such statement.
