Three people, including the daughter of Congress MLA Bala Bachchan, were killed and another young woman was seriously injured in a head-on collision between a car and a truck in Indore district of Madhya Pradesh. A police official gave this information on Friday.
Tejaji Nagar police station in-charge Devendra Markam said the accident occurred on Thursday morning on the Tejaji Nagar bypass near the Ralamandal area when a car collided with an oncoming truck.
He said that in the accident, Prerna Bachchan, daughter of former state Home Minister and Congress MLA Bachchan, and two young men, Man Sandhu and Prakhar, died on the spot.
The police station in-charge said that another young woman traveling in the car was seriously injured and has been admitted to the hospital.
Police said that the investigation into the matter is underway and the truck driver has been taken into custody for questioning.
Senior officials of the district administration and police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident. Further details are awaited.
Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath and Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, Umang Singhar, expressed their condolences over the accident.
