A 13-year-old student of Rewa Sainik School was killed and around 20 others injured after a bus overturned after colliding with a truck in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district. Police gave this information on Monday.
An official said that the incident took place after midnight on Monday at Bageshwar Dham Tirāhe, 24 km from the district headquarters. The bus was going to Gwalior from Rewa when a truck hit it.
Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Salil Sharma said that the bus overturned after the collision, following which the villagers informed the police. He said that a student of the military school in Rewa and about 20 other people were injured in the accident.
The doctor declared the boy dead
District Hospital Dr. Roshan Dwivedi said the victims were brought to the district hospital where the boy was declared brought dead. He said that the condition of three others is critical and has been referred to a hospital in Gwalior for further treatment.
The bus overturned after hitting the truck
According to police sources, the boy was returning to his native place for Diwali festival. Eyewitness Rameshwar Patel told reporters that he was going with a friend from Bageshwar Dham when he saw the tire of the truck burst.
He said that the truck driver lost control over the wheels and the vehicle collided with the bus. Patel reported the incident to SDOP. Patel said that he along with other villagers broke the windows of the bus and pulled out 25 to 30 people.
