MP | At least five killed, ten injured in van-tractor collision in Bhopal, India

Five people, including three members of the same family, were killed and 10 others injured in a head-on collision between a tractor-trolley and a pickup truck late Wednesday night in the Berasia area of ​​Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. Police provided this information on Thursday.

Berasia police station in-charge Vijendra Sen said that the pickup truck, which was going towards Narmadapuram, and the tractor-trolley, carrying devotees returning from bathing in the Narmada River for the Makar Sankranti festival, collided on the outskirts of Berasia tehsil in Bhopal district.

He said that Mukesh Ahirwar (40), Babri Bai (60), Deepak (14), Lakshmi Bai (60), and Hari Bai (60), all residents of Sironj and traveling in the pickup truck, died on the spot.

Sen said that a total of 10 people, including three children, were injured in the accident. The injured have been admitted to Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal and other private hospitals for treatment.

He said that upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations. People trapped in the damaged vehicles were rescued, and both vehicles have been seized. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
