A horrific road accident took place late Wednesday night on the Badnawar-Ujjain fourlane in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh. 7 people died and four people were injured in the accident. The condition of three people is said to be critical. CMHO RK Shinde has confirmed the death of 7 people. He told that four people have been injured in the accident.
At the same time, Badnawar Police Station in-charge Amit Kushwaha said that the tanker was going in the wrong direction. He first hit a pickup vehicle and then hit the car coming behind it. The tanker was going towards Ujjain, while the rest of the vehicles were coming from the opposite direction.
The officer said that the incident took place around 11 pm. He told that four people died on the spot, while the rest were seriously injured and were sent to Badnawar Civil Hospital. The number of dead could not be ascertained, as one person is seriously injured and it is being said that he died, but it has not been confirmed.
The officer said that the injured were sent to the hospital and the condition of all three is critical. He also informed that the tanker driver fled from the spot after the accident and the police have started searching for him.
According to the report, the deceased were residents of Mandsaur in Sitamau police station area. They were returning to Mandsaur from Indore via Ujjain. The police sent the accident vehicles and the bodies of the deceased to Badnawar Civil Hospital. Their post-mortem will be conducted in the morning. The accident was so horrific that the pickup got stuck under the tanker, making it difficult for the police to identify them immediately. Therefore, the victims have not been identified yet.
According to the police, one person in the pickup died on the spot, while the other was sent to the hospital. At the same time, three out of four people in the car died on the spot and one injured person was admitted to the hospital. The police is investigating to trace the absconding tanker driver.
